Revitalizing Africa's landscapes with economically empowering conservation and rewilding solutions

Project Introduction

Welcome to Africa Conservation Initiative; The Angola Rewilding Project

We are proud to introduce the Africa Conservation Initiative (ACI), a newly established nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring the long-term sustainability of wildlife areas across Africa. Our primary objective is to create safe havens for wildlife while fostering harmonious coexistence with local human communities. By educating these communities on long-term sustainable practices and nature-based business opportunities, we empower them to contribute to their families’ future. Our three main pillars are: people, wildlife, and economy.

Our Team

At ACI, we are privileged to be guided by a team of highly experienced individuals in the field of wildlife management and conservation, bringing together over 40 years of combined expertise in Southern Africa. Led by Dr. Paul Booyens, Marthuinis Bamberger, and Joca Coimbra, our dedicated leadership ensures the successful execution of our ambitious vision.

The Angola Rewilding Project

As part of our efforts, ACI is taking on the Angola Rewilding Project, which entails managing a wildlife park that will serve as a model for conservation and an environmental gem, contributing to Angola’s rich biodiversity. We strive to foster long-term sustainable economic development within local communities and establish a thriving tourist industry in Angola.

Unprecedented Opportunity

Currently, Angola lacks significant environmental, conservation, and tourism initiatives. However, with the cessation of decades-long civil war, formerly restricted areas are now experiencing equilibrium and opening up to the global economy. Angola, being the fourth most biodiverse country in Africa, is poised to become a prominent ecotourism destination.

Partnerships

ACI has already established a strong partnership with the Angolan Armed Forces Social Security Institution (CSSFAA). In collaboration with CSSFAA, we have committed to restoring 80,000 hectares of conservation area near the Mupa Region, creating a sanctuary for wildlife while simultaneously providing education and economic opportunities for veterans of the Angolan Armed Forces. With the approval of the Minister of Defense and two successful site visits already conducted, we are now prepared to plant the first proverbial pole.

Get Involved

By partnering with global organizations, we are confident in our ability to establish an exceptional and sustainable wildlife park, making Angola a leading ecotourism destination. We are currently accepting Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from potential founding partners and sponsors.

Let’s schedule a time to talk today about how you can join the opportunity to Rewild Angola.
